Unless you are directly exposed to the boil (ie: touching it), or touching stuff she touches where the virus can live (b/c you never know the hygiene of any person) & you have an open area, it is not contagious. Her wound is on her butt.but supposedly the bacteria can live on skin and different surfaces. She even hugs me a lot (she tries to act like my mom- older, motherly type). We work in a very small office.share the same bathroom, phones, touch all the same surfaces, etc. She had it last week while I was working with her, but they didn't know it was MRSA. she has a boil on her butt and has been really sick from it. I just found out (after being OOT since Thursday) that a lady I work closely with has an active MRSA infection. Anyone know much about MRSA? I have a call in to my doctor, but wanted to check here too.
